Good morning, everybody!
What an amazing day it's been! I never expected that Made Marion would reach its funding goal in just over 24 hours, and we're all so excited!
I am so very grateful to all of you who have backed us, spread the word, and supported us in other ways both big and small. I can’t wait to see how far our Kickstarter goes - hopefully we can smash those stretch goals and beyond! We're well on our way to the Original Music stretch goal at $17,200 CAD!
The more successful we are, the better a foundation we can build for Velvet Cupcake games, allowing us to create finish Made Marion and develop more games in the future. But for now, we’re just so happy to know that we get to finish this game. I can’t wait to share the stories of Marion and her new friends and lovers with all of you.

Made Marion is a project that is committed to accessibility. Since the Kickstarter page builder doesn't support alt text for images, here is the text for our character profiles, backer rewards, and stretch goals. We hope it's helpful, and if you have trouble accessing any of our information, please do reach out to us!
Marion: Our main character, a courageous young noblewoman who is serious about her responsibilities but suffers from a lack of diplomatic skills and a tendency to speak before she thinks when she gets wound up.
Sherwood Love Interests
Robin of Locksley: A deposed lord who is leading a rebellion against the autocratic Lord Geoffrey of Nottingham. A strong and capable leader with a tendency to hide his true feelings behind a wall of jocularity.
John: Robin's second-in-command, a gentle giant of a man battling inner demons from his tragic past.
Will, the Scarlet Blade: John's half-brother, a daredevil swordsman with several large chips on his shoulder.
Layton Tuck: A ruggedly handsome and morally deficient druid whose powerful magic supports the rebellion. He will be a key character in the Sherwood routes and a love interest in Made Marion's standalone DLC.
Nottingham Love Interests
Lord Geoffrey: Known locally by the derogatory nickname of "The Sheriff," this stern lord is determined to rule by law, even if the law entails some very onerous taxes. Can Marion uncover the reasons behind his harsh policies?
Meissa: A mysterious, mischievous sage from an enemy land. Kind and compassionate, they harbor a dangerous secret.
Alanna Dale: A merry bard in Geoffrey's court. Easy to fall in love with but difficult to truly know, she guards herself with layers of lies.
Gui la Londe: A gorgeous, graceful chevalier who is a confidant of Lord Geoffrey's despite their very different worldviews. He would like to recruit Marion for an important mission on behalf of the Crown.
???: A secret character who will be revealed after launch as the second DLC love interest. You will meet him during Made Marion, but we can't introduce him to the public just yet.

Copy of the Game: A digital copy of Made Marion for Steam or itch.io.
Made Marion Mega-Guide: A big-ol' combination digital art book, lore book, and game guide. Includes lots of art from development, development bloopers, lore information and short stories about the world and each love interest, and a walkthrough for the game.
Made Marion Erotic Adventures Booklet: ADULTS ONLY. A digital collection of sexy short stories and illustrations set after the end of the game. Includes stories by our lead developer and gorgeous erotic ink illustrations by guest artist Anna W.
Design a Creature for the Game: Backers of this limited tier will have a chance to work with our lead developer and our background artist to design an animal or fae creature that will appear in the game.
Design a Secondary Character: Backers of this limited tier will have a chance to work with our lead developer and lead artist to contribute to the design of a secondary character in the game.
$17,200 CAD: Original Music: Our soundtrack has largely been licensed from Alexander Nakarada, a talented composer who creates lovely Celtic-infused pieces. If we reach this goal, Alexander will compose some original pieces for us to add to the game, adding some unique flair to our biggest scenes.
$19,200 CAD: More Visual Effects and Cut-In Graphics: This goal will allow us to add more frequent and professional visual effects to the game. Key scenes will be enhanced by cut-in graphics that better illustrate the action. Basically, this is more visual fun and polish for readers to enjoy!
$20,500 CAD: Love Interest Point of View Segments: The base Made Marion game is written strictly from Marion's viewpoint. This goal will allow us to add in love interest point-of-view segments that unlock after players have completed a route. Get a sneak peek into some behind-the-scenes intrigue and the inner thoughts of the love interests.
$23,000 CAD: Backers Get DLC for Free: We are not tying the completion of Made Marion's DLC (see below) to a Kickstarter stretch goal. As long as Made Marion is funded, we'll make the DLC. However, if our campaign is massively successful, we will be providing the DLC to all backers at the game level and up with a free copy of the DLC.
This standalone DLC adventure will feature two new routes that explore a twisted supernatural conspiracy behind the scenes of the events in the main Made Marion game. It is a bit darker in theme than the main game and does not include a fade-to-black option for the love scenes, so we separated it out.
The DLC includes two love interest routes, Layton Tuck and a mystery love interest who will be revealed after the main game's launch. We are not currently funding or taking orders for the DLC, but we wanted you to know it's planned for release after Made Marion itself.

My name is Becky, and I'm the owner of Velvet Cupcake Games as well as the writer and lead developer for Made Marion. I'll be sending out our Kickstarter updates throughout the campaign and after its completion.
I have to admit, when I pressed that big button to put our campaign live this morning, I hoped things would go well. I didn't dare expect us to surpass the 50% mark in only five hours! This is fantastic, and I'm deeply grateful to every one of you for supporting us. We hope you'll keep spreading the word so we can blast into those stretch goals and get y'all some free DLC!
In a little while, there will be another Kickstarter update from us. It won't be the usual project update, but instead will be a text-only version of our Kickstarter information from the character profile section on down. This is to help out potential backers who use screen readers or otherwise have difficulty parsing text that's incorporated into graphics. Kickstarter doesn't have an alt-text option for images, so it's the best solution I could think of.
